The Process Behind the Projects

At McKenzie Craft, every project is the result of deliberate planning, technical expertise, and meticulous execution. From initial design consultation to final installation, our team brings complex visions to life with precision, creativity, and a collaborative approach.

Engineering Precision from Concept to Fabrication

Our process begins with rigorous estimating and engineering. We assess materials, structural considerations, and logistics to ensure that designs are not only visually compelling but also buildable and durable. Our engineers work closely with project managers and fabricators to address potential challenges before fabrication begins, including accommodating complex geometries and integrating mechanical systems or lighting elements seamlessly.

In the workshop, our team translates these plans into tangible components. Millwork and metalwork are fabricated to exacting tolerances, often involving intricate joinery, curved panels, custom metal finishes, and mixed-material interfaces. CNC routing, laser cutting, powder coating, and precision assembly allow us to deliver pieces that meet both aesthetic and structural demands. For example, at Pier Sixty-Six in Fort Lauderdale, our team fabricated and installed curved wall panels, metallic elevator portals, and custom millwork for the 3rd floor spa, 4th floor private club, and 17th floor rotating lounge. Each element required tight tolerances and coordination across multiple trades to ensure finishes aligned perfectly on site.

From Shop Floor to Site: Executing Complex Installations

Installation is the culmination of planning and fabrication. Panels, cabinetry, and metal elements are positioned precisely, interfaces are aligned, and design intent is realized in the final space. On projects like the Turnberry Executive Office Suite, our team coordinated installation of custom millwork and metallic finishes in executive spaces, ensuring that furniture, lighting, and mechanical systems all integrated seamlessly without compromising design or schedule.

This process requires constant collaboration between engineers, fabricators, and installers. Precision is critical, not just for aesthetics but for functionality and long-term performance.

A Culture Built on Craft and Collaboration

The culture at McKenzie Craft is rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and passion for the work. In our Miami workshop, team members are encouraged to take initiative, refine techniques, and contribute ideas that improve processes or solve challenges. Continuous learning is integral. From mastering CNC routing, laser cutting, and metal bending to developing innovative installation techniques for hospitality and high-end residential projects, our team grows alongside the work they create.

We foster a workplace where skill, focus, and accountability coexist with support and camaraderie. Collaboration is not just about efficiency, it is about combining diverse expertise to achieve results that no single discipline could accomplish alone.

Our Core Values

The More You Know – Curiosity drives innovation in fabrication and problem-solving.
It Takes A Village – Collaboration across departments and trades ensures every project succeeds.
We Live For This Stuff – Passion motivates precision and ownership at every stage.
The Beauty Is In The Details – From material selection to final installation, nothing is overlooked.
OHMMMMMMM – Positive thinking and a healthy lifestyle support focus and performance.

By embedding these values into every stage of our workflow, McKenzie Craft delivers projects that combine technical excellence, design integrity, and lasting quality, while cultivating a team environment where skill, innovation, and collaboration thrive.
