McKenzie Craft Ditches the Razors…
At McKenzie Craft, we believe that supporting a healthy lifestyle is an essential part of building an exceptional team. In October, we demonstrated that belief by donating to breast cancer research and supporting initiatives focused on prevention and treatment for women. Wellness matters year-round, and fostering a culture of care is a critical part of who we are as a company.
This November, our focus turns to men’s health. Men’s cancers, such as prostate, colorectal, and lung cancer, remain among the most common health concerns for men, and preventive care is often overlooked. Raising awareness, supporting research, and encouraging proactive care are all key to improving outcomes for men in our communities.
South Florida has a unique health landscape, and research from the University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center underscores the importance of early detection and education. Many men in the region are diagnosed with late-stage cancers, making preventive care and screenings especially vital. Sylvester is South Florida’s only NCI-designated cancer center, offering advanced programs for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Supporting initiatives that work with local research centers allows McKenzie Craft to make a meaningful impact in the community where we live and work.
This November, McKenzie Craft is taking action in two ways:
Corporate Giving: We are contributing to organizations focused on men’s cancer research and health initiatives, helping advance awareness, prevention, and treatment.
Employee Engagement “Ditch the Razor”: Our team is embracing the spirit of Movember in creative ways. Some employees started the month clean-shaven, turning it into a friendly competition to see who could grow their beard back the fastest. Others simply opted to skip their usual grooming routines. In every case, the money normally spent on shaving is being donated to support men’s health. This small, visible gesture sparks conversation, encourages participation, and makes the cause personal for everyone on the team.
At McKenzie Craft, we know that strong teams are built on more than skill and craftsmanship, they are built on care, trust, and mutual support. By supporting men’s health, we are fostering a culture that values well-being, encourages preventive care, and makes a difference both inside and outside the workshop.
We invite our colleagues, clients, and community to join us this November. Whether by donating, scheduling a check-up, or simply starting a conversation about men’s health, everyone can take steps that contribute to lasting impact. Together, we can advance awareness, research, and care for men in South Florida and beyond.
